Our Story
Born from Love. Built from Resilience.
The Nasia Foundation exists because one mother refused to let her daughter's journey be invisible.
The Founder
Letitia Council, Founder
On August 15, 2019, Letitia Council's daughter Ja'Nasia Miller was involved in a motor vehicle accident that changed both of their lives forever. What followed was a journey through emergency rooms, rehabilitation centers, sleepless nights, and a healthcare system that often left families like theirs without answers, without community, and without hope.
As a caregiver, Letitia searched for resources specifically designed for youth and young adults with traumatic brain injuries — and for the families walking alongside them. What she found was a gap. A silence where support should have been.
So she built what she couldn't find. The Nasia Foundation was created to ensure that no family has to navigate TBI alone — that every young person, every caregiver, every loved one has access to education, resources, community, and the simple but powerful knowledge that they are not alone.
Ja'Nasia's journey became my purpose. Her name became our foundation.

Her Journey
Ja'Nasia's Journey
Ja'Nasia Miller was a vibrant young woman whose life was interrupted on August 15, 2019. Her recovery has been a testament to strength, perseverance, and the power of a family that refuses to give up. Her story — and the stories of thousands like her — is why The Nasia Foundation exists. Every program, every resource, every event we offer is dedicated to her and to every young person fighting their way back.
